Gopher State Showdown Sees Several Changes Headed into October 10th-11th Event

With the blessing of Deb and the Engfer family, the 3rd annual Gopher State Showdown at the I-94 emr Speedway in Fergus Falls, MN on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, October 9th, 10th and 11th has been renamed as the Scott Engfer Memorial Gopher State Showdown!

Not only has the name and logo changed for the event, but the GenX Late Model purse has grown to a $2,000 to win event to honor Scott, who started the class and the other change to the event will see IMCA SportMods replace the INEX Legends on the schedule for
the 2025 event.

Event promoter Chris Stepan with FYE Motorsports said 'the Legends have a competing event that weekend in Minot and the SportMods have asked to be a part of the event for several years, so the decision has been made to remove the Legends to allow them to compete at the other event and to add the SportMods. There are a lot of SportMod racers in the Fargo/Moorhead area, the Brainerd area, as well as other places across Minnesota and North and South Dakota, so adding the SportMods was an easy decision as they were looking
for a place to race that weekend.'

Along with these changes, fans should note that the make-up Late Model and Super Stock features from the rained-out King of Dirt on June 7th will be completed on Friday night, to add several feature races to the opening night of the weekend event.

A practice night will be held from 6p-9p on Thursday with qualifying heat races on Friday night, along with the make-up Late Model and Super Stock features from the June 7th King of Dirt that was rained out and then all b-mains and championship features will
be held on Saturday night.

**Reserved pit spots, camping and VIP booths and tables will go on sale on Monday, September 22nd. Stay tuned.
