Zimpel, Adams, Anderson, Carlson, Larson and Jacoboski Win First Fall Classic Titles

Bellefeuille and Nelson Get Second Career FC Victories
Sabraski Wins Record 11th Fall Classic

Ogilvie, MN (October 4) – With the addition of the USRA Late Models, the car count for the 22nd Annual Minnesota Truck Headquarters Fall Classic presented by Structural Buildings and powered by KME rose to 311, just shy of last year's record breaking event. The FYE Motorsports hosted event drew racers from all over the region and Canada and Saturday night, they battled for the exclusive Fall Classic Champion title. At the end of the night Austin Carlson, Parker Anderson, Blake Adams, Josh Zimpel, Jody Bellefeuille, Shane Sabraski, Cade Nelson, Tyler Larson and Randy Jacoboski went home as the champions.

The WISSOTA Pure Stocks were the first class on the night’s agenda with Jake Smith as the early leader. Austin Carlson grabbed second and kept close to Smith as they pulled away from the competition. Smith and Carlson closed in on slower traffic with a handful of laps to go. Carlson slid next to Smith and soon they were door to door for the lead. As the white was raised, Carlson nosed ahead down the backstretch, and although Smith kept within reach, Austin Carlson held his line and took the win. Jake Smith settled for second with Kade Leeper, Rob Grabon and Dylan Helget as the top five finishers.

The WISSOTA Street Stocks began their 27 lap feature with Trey Hess and Davey Kruchten on row one. Hess pulled away with the immediate lead while Hunter VanGilder made his way to second. With three laps in the books, the first caution was triggered. The remaining laps of the race were completed with cautions mixed in, along with some three-wide action and a few racers moved forward a dozen points before the checkers flew. Parker Anderson quickly moved from ninth to third, and was in first by lap nine of the event. Anderson led the remaining laps and claimed the win. Hunter VanGilder, Keith Tourville, Eric Riley and Jim Gullikson earned points two through five.

David Simpson and Ryan Savoy brought the WISSOTA Midwest Modifieds to the green flag for the night’s next event, but the yellow flag waved shortly after the green. The Midwest Modifieds struggled to keep the lights green as the race was plagued with cautions. The final restart triggered a thrilling ending as Blake Adams prepared to take the win, Joey Jensen closed the gap and worked the grooves of the track. As the white flag raised and the final lap closed, Jensen gave it one final push, however Blake Adams sped away and took the checkers. Remaining top points were awarded to Joey Jensen, Jake Smith, Tate Kostreba and James Trantina.

Jeff Provinzino and Josh Zimpel led the WISSOTA Late Models to the line for their 40 lap feature race. Zimpel sped off with the lead with Provinzino and Cole Schill in tow. Schill moved forward and snatched the top point, and as laps passed quickly, Schill had slower drivers in sight. After a quick caution, Zimpel brought the drivers back to green as another group of laps was completed with Zimpel, Schill and Cole Searing as the top three. Another caution occurred and as the drivers restarted, Schill fell back a few points and Joel Bennett sped his way into second. Zimpel had a solid lead established, but Bennett quickly closed the gap. Bennett moved to Zimpel’s door and snuck by as Zimpel slid out of the groove. Bennett pulled away, but then got loose, which allowed Zimpel to race to his door. They were nose to nose behind a lapped car as the yellow waved a final time. Josh Zimpel brought the drivers back to green, held the lead the final laps, and secured the win. Cole Schill moved forward to finish second with Shane Sabraski, Jeff Provinzino and Joel Bennett as the top five racers.

Blake Adams grabbed the early lead with Jody Bellefeuille and Dave Cain in tow when the WISSOTA Modifieds went green. A quick caution reset the field, and as the race resumed, racers used every inch of the surface to make their moves. Bellefeuille dropped low on the race surface after a restart to challenge Adams, however Adams held the lead. Following another restart, Bellefeuille tried the same move, and this round he made the car stick. Bellefeuille slowly separated from the field as Landon Atkinson moved in to battle Adams. Atkinson snagged second and looked ahead at Bellefeuille, who was 2.4 seconds ahead. Jody Bellefeuille kept his foot down and took the double checkered flags with Landon Atkinson, Blake Adams, Shane Sabraski and Jeremy Nelson in the top five points.

The WISSOTA Super Stocks came out, and after races with many cautions, the Supers pulled off a caution free race event. Joey Jensen and Dylan Kromschroeder led the drivers to green and Jensen claimed the lead. Shane Sabraski took second and soon thereafter, the lead. Dylan Nelson slid into second with Jensen and Dexton Koch to his rear. Laps passed quickly as the top four racers caught slower traffic. Sabraski weaved his way through the lapped cars two and three-wide with few laps to go. Drivers were mixed in together and covered the whole race surface, but Shane Sabraski proved himself the best and took the win. Remaining top points went to Dylan Nelson, Joey Jensen, Dexton Koch and Dylan Kromschroeder.

Cade Nelson claimed the immediate lead in the USRA Late Model Feature with Lucas Peterson and Jarrett Huus in tow. Nelson stretched his lead to four seconds as racers covered the entire race surface. One caution reset the field as a couple drivers spun in turn three, however Nelson was unphased by the yellow flag. Cade Nelson brought the racers back too green and led the race in its entirety as he took the checkered flags. Lucas Peterson finished second while Jarrett Huus, Patrick Kelley and Jason McFadden rounded out the top five.

Tyler Larson established a solid lead when the WISSOTA Mod Fours went green. Dustin Holtquist took second and chased after Larson as laps passed quickly. Larson had the cruise control set, but as he encountered slower cars, Holtquist shaved some time off the difference. Although Holtquist was able to close the gap, Tyler Larson held the lead and took the win. Dustin Holtquist finished second with Corey Mehrwerth, Thomas Burgard and Robert Holtquist in the top five.

The WISSOTA Hornets closed out the program, but before the first lap was completed contact occurred and a driver rolled. All involved drivers were ok and the remaining cars were aligned and retook the green. Tony Jenson took the lead with Brady Fosso and Randy Jacoboski in tow. The top drivers kept close as Fosso moved into the lead. After a caution, Fosso and Jacoboski were door to door for the point, and Jacoboski pulled away. A couple cautions kept the racers slow, and Fosso slid back to Jacobski’s door. Once again, they were nose to nose for the lead as Mark Gangl grabbed third and put pressure on the leaders. The top three remained glued to one another, and fought the final laps. Brady Fosso, Mark Gangl, Christian Kast and Alex Aderman finished second through fifth while Randy Jacoboski topped them all and took the win.

The final checkers waved, closing out the 22nd Annual Minnesota Truck Headquarters Fall Classic. Thank you to all racers, crew, family and fans who filled the grounds of the Ogilvie Raceway, enjoyed many hours of WISSOTA Dirt Track Race Action and made this year’s event, another successful FYE Motorsports event.

Ogilvie, MN (October 3) – Friday night kicked off the 22nd Annual Minnesota Truck Headquarters Fall Classic Presented by Structural Buildings and Powered by KME. The event was hosted by FYE Motorsports at Wagamon’s Ogilvie Raceway, and 292 drivers signed in to race their qualifying heats across all eight WISSOTA divisions on Friday’s portion of the event.

The WISSOTA Street Stocks took the clay first with five heats on the agenda. Heat race wins were claimed by Kammron Rose, Jim Gullikson, Parker Anderson, Trey Hess and Justin Vogel.
